Knicks defeated for the third consecutive time by the Heat
Although the Knicks were headed for a loss against the Heat, they at least put up an interesting show for their fans, whom probably went home knowing that the 3-0 deficit in their series against Miami is a clear sign that their team’s season will most likely be over on Sunday, when the Heat is going to try to eliminate New York at game four after the Knicks got defeated 87-70 last night at the Madison Square Garden.
Carmelo Anthony played a good game, finishing with 22 points, and the match seemed pretty even for the first 3 quarters, but LeBron James scored 17 of his 32 points on the fourth and gave his team an important victory that is putting the Heat just one game away from making it to the next round. “My mindset was to make plays, make plays for our team to try to help us win down the stretch. I was able to come in and make some plays to help us win.” LeBron said after the game.
By losing this game, the Knicks not only missed the chance of advancing to the second round, as they also set a new NBA record by losing thirteen straight playoff games.
Thunder is one game away from advancing to the next round
Another team that is down 3-0 in their current NBA playoffs series is the reigning champions the Mavericks, whom were defeated last night 95-79 by the Thunder. Kevin Durant finished the match with 31 points (21 of those scored during the first period), while teammate Russell Westbrook finished the match with 20. Overall, Oklahoma City was quite superior to Dallas both in offense and defense, as they turned the ball only 8 times and their defense registered eleven steals and seven blocks. Game four will be played on Saturday at the American Airlines Center.
Denver will try to avoid a 3-0 deficit tonight against LA
The Nuggets don’t want to be one of the teams that is currently 3-0 and at the brink of elimination, and so they will try to play their best hoops tonight at Pepsi Center against the Lakers in order to have a chance of making it 2-1 and then tie the series at their own court at game four. And for that, the Denver franchise knows that the secret will be in getting Andrew Bynum off the boards and preventing him from getting rebounds. When it comes to Kobe Bryant, he is playing outstandingly, and when he has great games, there is just not much the rival team can do about it.
”When you have the luxury of a guy like Kobe, you might ask him to do a bit more than you’d like, so it was good for him to sit out a few games and get his body back to where it was. It was a good thing for him.” Coach Mike Brown said of the veteran shooting guard.
