Cowboys Improved To 5-5 After Win Over Browns
The Browns were visiting Arlington to play the Cowboys and their hope of a third win this season almost became true as they started the game with the right foot but everything changed in favor of the local team during the last two quarters and Dallas made it 5-5 thanks to a 23-20 OT victory over Cleveland.
Banjamin Watson catch a ten-yard pass from Brandon Weeden during the first while Phil Dawson came up with two field goals for the Browns during the second quarter to enter the half with a 13-0 advantage over the Cowboys, whom only scored 3 points during the third period but improved considerably during the last quarter as they scored 17.
Dan Bailey was the one that made it even at 20 points for both teams with just 2 seconds left in regulation and that play sent the game to overtime, where Bailey was the hero again as his 38-yard kick gave Dallas a very valuable home win that gives the team some security before an important game against the Redskins on Thursday night. On the other hand, the Browns are now 2-8 and a third win doesn’t seem quite possible right now as they have a very tough match ahead of team against the Steelers next Sunday.
Buccaneers Are 6-4 After Defeating The Panthers
The Bucs remain solid with a current record of 6-4 thanks to a valuable 27-21 road win over the Panthers on Sunday. Tampa Bay has now won four games in a row and they are starting to seriously look like a playoff contender, though a really difficult test is ahead of them as they will be facing the Falcons next weekend, and Atlanta is currently one of the teams with the best records in the league.
A three-yard touchdown pass by Josh Freeman to Nate Byham opened up the score for the visiting team while Captain Munnerlyn and Jonathan Stewart scored a TD each for the Panthers and the home team went to the half with a 4-point advantage over the Buccaneers.
None of the two teams scored during the third but things got interesting during the fourth quarter as Brandon LaFell catched a 29-yard TD pass from Cam Newton and Freeman threw another one to Vincent Jackson and the game went to overtime, where Freeman threw his third touchdown pass of the night and gave the Bucs a win that makes the team more secure of its capabilities for what is coming.
