Last Monday, Auburn scored a 22-19 victory over Oregon, winning the acclaimed Bowl Championship Series title. “Winning on the field,” Bowl Championship Series title said after the game. “You might not always be the media favorite or the favorites of the game. People might want to hate you for this or that, but at no point can they ever argue that there was a better team than us this year.” Auburn coach Gene Chizik also expressed his feelings and pride for the team to the press. "When you go in the locker room last night and you look at 100 guys that 15 weeks ago nobody would have gave a dime for to win a national championship -- which is fact -- and you see them look at you, and your coaches are saying 'thank you' to the players, and the players are saying 'thank you' to the ... more

When watching the Wolverines (67) versus the Illinois Fighting Illini (65) game last Saturday, I had the feeling I was not in Michigan anymore. Perhaps it was the fact that I had never seen so many points been scored in Michigan in the past or the Wolverines’ over-the-rainbow celebration. But of course, there was also that amazing performance by the Michigan Marching Band recreating the Wizard of Oz movie in the half-time. The Band’s unique presentation featured the musical’s most famous melodies, dancing, narration, acting and letters made out of the crew from the Marching Band, turning the word “Ohio” into “Oh no!” People cheered loudly at the wicked witch and the scarecrow. It is refreshing and surely appreciated to see something different done this days and put so much... more

This is definitely for much the best football trick play I have ever seen. It came from a middle school coach in Corpus Christi, Texas, and his eighth-grade quarterback Jason Garza, who casually advances the ball against a bunch of defensive players when they were down 6-0 with one minute to go in the third quarter of their championship game against rival Wynn Seale Saturday. The play came after getting flagged for a penalty. Driscoll Rangers coach Art Rodriguez told the Daily News that the ruse was drawn up by his assistant. It was the first time they had ever tried it. "They marked out five yards, but then (Eighth-grade quarterback Jason Garza) tells the center they're marking out five more yards," says Rodriguez. John De Los Santos, assistant coach of the Corpus Christi, Texas, sc... more
