Injured players who are recovering from surgery will have to be treated by third parties due to the imposed lockout on the National Football League. Cleveland Browns president Mike Holmgren referred to this particular issue earlier this week. "They can be treated and talk to the doctor who did the surgery,” Holmgren said. “It has to be off campus and the treatment has to be conducted by a third party, but that third party can be in communication with us. All our injured players are being taken care of and we will know their progress. There is no communication now between the club, club employees and the players and if we just stick by that rule then some of these other things have to go another way." Browns running back Montario Hardesty missed his entire rookie season due to an ant... more

Jacksonville starting wide receiver Mike Sims-Walker announced last night that he doesn’t have any intentions of returning to the Jaguars. “Its official, I personally wanna thank all the fans who stuck with me in Jacksonville for the last 4 years but sorry to say my time is up!!,” he said Thursday evening. I guess next season will just have to miss Mike’s contribution to the team. Jacksonville can’t re-sign Sims-Walker anymore after the team tendered him as a non-restricted free agent. The wide receiver will be able to sign with another team, though. Sims-Walker had lingering ankle injury issues in his first two seasons, was limited to nine games, and missed his rookie season. Mike Sims-Walker was drafted by the Jaguars in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft. In 200... more

United States President Barack Obama has a word or two on the talk between owners and players that has been going on with regards to the collective bargaining agreement. “You’ve got owners, most of whom are worth close to $1 billion. You’ve got players who are making millions are dollars. My working assumption at a time when people are having to cut back, compromise and worry about making the mortgage and paying for their kids’ college education is that the two parties should be able to work it out without the President of the United States intervening,” President Obama said. The arguments between the NFL and the players can take a toll on the following season, and it’s up to them, not the President to work things out. “I’m a big football fan, but I also think for an ... more

Hawk was drafted by the Green Bay Packers fifth overall in the 2006 NFL Draft. He played college football at Ohio State. Hawk won the Lombardi Award and the Jack Lambert Trophy in 2005.
